Alicja Kicińska-Fujawa
I have been involved in intellectual and industrial property matters for over 25 years. This experience has taught me to take a multidisciplinary approach to Intellectual Property and to relate it to other legal fields, as well as to appreciate the increasingly important role it plays in business, economics, advertising and social media.
For a number of years I have had the pleasure of representing clients in application and litigation proceedings before the Polish Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
With my support, clients from various industries, ranging from FMCG to automotive, fuel and life sciences, have built and enriched their trademark portfolios (more than 2,000 trademark applications) or industrial designs (more than 200 registrations), conducted litigation (more than 150) and successfully defended their exclusive rights.
I advise both Polish and foreign entities on how best to use and benefit from their protection. I act at all the phases of the origination and maintenance of intellectual property rights, conducting registrability studies, prosecuting applications and litigation, and developing protection strategies. I also assist clients in the effective management of their rights.
Thanks to my international qualifications, I am able to represent clients in patent invalidity or infringement proceedings before the Unified Patent Court, which will become operational on 1 June 2023.
My profession requires me to constantly expand and update my knowledge due to changes in the law, which motivates me to act and constantly improve my qualifications.
I am passionate about imparting knowledge and talking about difficult issues in a straightforward manner, keeping in mind the holistic view of the issue under discussion. I am happy to share my experience and skills during training sessions.
I consider each case on its merits, being transparent about the opportunities and risks involved. At the same time, I never forget that the benefit and well-being of the client are key to my decisions and actions.
